Short answer
To renew an Indian passport in Canada, you fill in the online form on the Passport Seva portal, then submit it with your current passport, proof of status in Canada, proof of address and photos at the official application centre, in person or by post. From 1 July 2026 the government fee is $176 for an adult (36 pages), $246 for 60 pages and $128 for a child. We prepare, check and courier the whole file for you, so you skip the lineup.
What you need
- Your current or expired Indian passport (the original)
- Proof of status in Canada: PR card, work permit or study permit
- Proof of your address in Canada, such as a driver's licence

- For a child: both parents' passports, the child's birth certificate and the parents' declaration, signed by both parents

Most common reasons passport files come back
- Photos that do not meet the September 2025 specification
- Old fees after the 1 July 2026 fee change
- Missing proof of status in Canada or proof of address
- For children: a missing parent signature or parent document
- Details on the form that do not match the passport
The Consulate's acceptance policy says minor formatting differences, such as writing ON instead of Ontario, cannot be a reason to reject an application. If yours was returned, see what to do when an application is returned.
