Short answer
A new OCI card is applied for online on the OCI Services portal, then submitted with your documents at the official application centre. Since 5 April 2026, OCI applications in Canada must be submitted in person for biometrics; applications by post are not accepted. The government fee is $376 ($371 plus $5 ICWF). We fill in and check everything, so your visit is one short stop.

Government fees are paid to the Government of India at cost. The official application centre adds a service charge of $1.70 per application, and return courier is extra.
